Title: Account Director
Team: Customer Success / Account Management
Employment Type: Full-time
Location: Hong Kong
Why This Role Matters
We’re hiring an Account Director to own the growth and long-term success of some of Hupo’s most important enterprise accounts in Asia.
This is a commercially accountable role. You’ll build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, understand the priorities and challenges of each organisation, and turn those relationships into long-term growth for both the customer and Hupo.
You’ll own accounts across the full lifecycle—from onboarding and adoption through renewal and expansion—and work closely with Product, Engineering, Deployment, and Customer Success to make sure Hupo delivers meaningful business outcomes.
As Hupo continues to expand within existing customers, this role will play a key part in identifying where we can go deeper: new teams, business units, use cases, markets, and products.
What You'll Do
Own account growth
Own and exceed expansion and retention targets across a portfolio of enterprise accounts.
Develop strategic account plans that identify new stakeholders, teams, business units, markets, and use cases.
Identify and drive upsell, cross-sell, renewal, and multi-year expansion opportunities.
Lead commercial conversations including proposals, negotiations, renewals, and expansion agreements.
Build and maintain a clear, actionable pipeline across your accounts.
Build executive relationships
Build trusted relationships with senior business, technology, and procurement stakeholders.
Understand each customer’s business priorities, operating environment, and measures of success.
Act as a strategic partner to customers, connecting Hupo’s capabilities to their broader business objectives.
Build strong internal champions and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
Lead executive business reviews and communicate outcomes, risks, recommendations, and opportunities clearly.
Drive customer outcomes
Own the overall health and success of your accounts from onboarding through adoption, renewal, and expansion.
Define clear success measures with customers and ensure Hupo demonstrates measurable business impact.
Work closely with Deployment, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to deliver successful enterprise programmes.
Stay close to delivery progress, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
Step in when issues require escalation, alignment, or additional momentum.
Shape our commercial strategy
Bring customer and market insights back to Hupo to help shape our product and go-to-market strategy.
Identify patterns across accounts that can inform new use cases, expansion opportunities, and ways of working.
Help build repeatable account-management practices as the team scales.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first few months, you'll:
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across your accounts and develop a clear understanding of their business priorities.
Take ownership of account plans, renewal timelines, expansion opportunities, and commercial pipelines.
Establish clear success measures with customers and work with internal teams to drive adoption and measurable outcomes.
You’ll also be expected to continuously:
Grow and retain your portfolio by identifying and converting expansion opportunities.
Build deeper relationships across customer organisations and develop strong executive champions.
Drive successful customer outcomes while keeping commercial priorities and account health in focus.
Bring customer insights back to the wider team and help improve how Hupo manages and grows enterprise accounts.
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves
Proven experience in enterprise account management, strategic sales, customer success, consulting, or another commercially accountable client-facing role.
Experience owning a revenue, expansion, retention, or similar commercial target.
Track record of growing complex enterprise accounts through renewals, upsells, cross-sells, or regional expansion.
Strong experience building and managing relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders.
Strong commercial judgment and the ability to identify and act on revenue opportunities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to navigate complex organisations.
Strong ownership and follow-through—you identify problems early, push things forward, and stay accountable for outcomes.
Ability to create structure in ambiguous situations and manage multiple priorities independently.
Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup or scale-up environment where priorities and responsibilities can evolve quickly.
Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese, in addition to English, and comfortable working across different cultures and markets.
