Title: Associate Product Manager
Team: Product
Type: Full-time
Location: Singapore preferred; remote considered across Asia time zones (UTC+5–UTC+11).
Why This Role Matters
Hupo is building AI products that help enterprise banks and insurers improve how their frontline teams identify opportunities, make decisions, and serve customers.
You'll work on products that help advisors prepare for customer conversations and run them better, at the intersection of AI, advisor behaviour, and enterprise distribution.
You'll own specific parts of this product line, and the decisions you make there will help shape how the rest of it is built.
What You'll Do
Own product surfaces end to end. Take specific parts of the product line and own the problem, the spec, the trade-offs, the launch, and the numbers afterwards.
Go deep with enterprise BFSI customers. Understand how advisors work and how agency structures and distribution operate across markets, then turn feature requests and the needs behind them into product decisions.
Turn ambiguous problems into work a team can build. Much of what reaches you will be vague or contested. Break it down, form a view, write it clearly, and defend it.
Ship with a squad. Work alongside engineers and a designer to ship quickly, with live enterprise clients using what you build.
Operate AI-native. Use AI tooling by default to multiply your own output, and show us how you do it.
Use data to define success and track progress. Define the measures before you build, then hold yourself to them: adoption, behaviour change, and downstream outcomes, not just usage.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first few months, you'll:
Get up to speed on the domain quickly and largely on your own.
Own at least one product surface end to end and ship it.
Handle client conversations on your own.
Form and defend a product view, including when your team disagrees with it.
You'll also be expected to continuously:
Raise problems and opportunities beyond the ones assigned to you.
Improve how the team works, not just what it ships.
Turn what you learn from customers into decisions other people can act on.
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves
We look closely at attitude, aptitude, and evidence of high potential rather than the number of years or internships on a CV. For this role, the constants:
You reason from first principles. You can take an unfamiliar problem, strip it back to what is actually true, and build up from there.
You take ownership without being asked. You can point to something you fixed or improved, and say what changed as a result.
You learn quickly and deliberately. You can describe something difficult you taught yourself recently, why you chose it, and how you got up to speed.
You have built things. A portfolio, a side project, a tool, an essay, a small business. It does not need to be polished.
You understand the product development lifecycle and how software gets built and shipped: discovery, specification, release, and measurement.
You communicate clearly and concisely, in writing and in person.
You reach for AI tooling by default to compress your own work, and you can demonstrate it.
Nice-to-Haves
A strong academic record.
Foundations in design and user research, enough to assess whether an interface is doing its job and learn from customers without leading them.
A deep understanding of AI technology and where to apply it, especially speech and language models (STT, LLM, TTS): what they are reliably good at, where they fall short, and how non-determinism changes what "working" means.
Experience building with LLMs: prompting, retrieval, evaluation, or a product you have shipped using them.
Domain knowledge in insurance, wealth management, or financial advice.
Technical background, enough to read code, query data, or prototype your own ideas.
Working proficiency in a language spoken in our markets beyond English.
